My name is Greg Hauser and I am the Proud Principal of Esencia. I am both a parent and educator in Capistrano Unified School District.

The Mission of Esencia K-8 is to ensure an engaging and challenging learning environment that empowers and values the social, emotional, and academic needs of ALL learners. At Esencia K-8, we cultivate learners who are effective collaborators, critical thinkers, innovative problem solvers, and responsible global citizens.

Esencia has an incredibly talented staff (teachers and support staff) who challenge students to higher levels of thinking and learning in different ways.  Our goal is to prepare your child to be able to compete in a competitive world academically and social-emotionally.  Instructional, we seek to provide our students with GREAT FIRST INSTRUCTION. Our students thrive for knowledge, grasping for new information and the opportunity to apply it in their lives. We seek to build a support system where we know students BY NAME, BY NEED.  At Esencia, we believe in PROMOTING A POSITIVE AND INCLUSIVE CULTURE.   At Esencia K-8, we pride ourselves in educating the whole child and preparing our students to leave our school ready to handle all academic rigors in their education.

Esencia has a positive parent presence that embraces family values, academic performance, and the Rancho Mission Viejo community.  We welcome all families to be involved in our school community whether it is through volunteering in your child’s classroom or working with an amazing PTSA.   Even if your child doesn't see you at Esencia K-8 during the school day, they are aware of your interest and passion for being involved in their school through various activities.
